A blustery September afternoon was enlivened by this excellent local deby. Old Colstonians kicked off with a strong wind at their backs and played more of the rugby in the early exchanges. Following some excellent tactical kicking from the Bristolians fly half, OBs took the lead with a well taken penalty. The OC's fought back strongly leading to a try in the corner from full back Tom Stilwell. Bristolians piled on the pressure and crossed for a try at the end of the first half, making the half time score 10-5.

Colstonians started the second half strongly before the home side scored a good try slightly against the run of play after a number of mistakes from the OCs midfield. This sparked Will Read into life who made a clean line break and following some neat interplay, Dave Wynn-Jones crashed over in the corner. The Old Colstonians were in the game but a push over try killed the away side's resistance and a number of soft scores followed. There were some excellent performances, none more so than from Matt "Ramsey" Pearson who was deservedly awarded the man of the match award.

Old Colsonians have a desperately difficult start to the season and the challenge for all players is play better this week against Widdon Old Boys
