Saturdays game saw the unbeaten OC’s travel up to Minchinhampton in search of a win following their physical draw vs old E’s the week before. With the boys filled up on park one breakfasts they ventured up to Gloucester. The OC’s had a relatively quick start to the game (surprisingly) with Tim farmer crashing over the line from some good backs play and simple running rugby. The first half was the closer of the two, but the OC’s were always comfortably in the lead.  Minchinhampton scored two tries from good line out drives orchestrated by their forwards. But the OC’s had already secured their bonus point within the first 30 minutes through a further two tries from the relentless Tim Farmer and a good break through a narrow gap by James Wilson. Half time score 24-14.

After the half time break the OC’s were more Spirited and never stopped. The OC’s played good running rugby, kicked the ball into space and used the forwards in harmony with the backs. Tim (Bastareaud) Farmer scored AGAIN in the second half with a MASSIVE bosh on an unfortunate Minchinhampton player.  The Minchinhampton Forwards once again scored from a well worked drive from their lineout but due to good defence were unable to score a fourth try and secure a bonus point, much to their determination. Then through some lovely running rugby and a very good break James Wilson crashed over the line only to be denied his second try of the game to a penalty try due to a high tackle on him (during the process of scoring the try). Tom Child scored a well worked try and used his pace to slice through the defence. Daniel Exon who for some reason found himself on the wing was gifted a try through an impressive 3 man miss pass by OC fly half Alex Haynes. James Wilson finally got his second of the afternoon through a chip over the defence followed by a few dribbles with the ball and a dive for the ball to make sure it didn’t go dead. Mike ball scored a try from his own 22m line by pacing the Minchinhampton winger and proceeding to run around the fullback. Isa Ghaidan had a similar try to Mike Ball’s where he used his pace to beat the defence.

OC’s scrum half Will Johnson had his season break but came agonisingly short of the line, he offloaded to Ant Stilwell who completed the nifty break. Shout outs to Tim Farmer whos weight loss seems to be working on the pitch, James Wilson who had a solid game and made breaks all day, and Matt Leek who’s sheer presence on the pitch led to 6 OC’s tries.  A Notable mention to Minchinhampton who persevered. The boys have a much deserved weekend off and then some very competitive games the rest of February. End Score 19-76.
